SEEING RED

The work consists of a single suspended sheet of transparent red coloured acrylic glass. It hangs freely in space, resembling a floating film of colour. When approached, the viewer is invited to observe the surroundings through the pane's 'red veil'.

The theme is an exploration of the relationship between the purely sensual impression of 'seeing red' and the emotional reaction of 'seeing red' that occurs under increased psychological pressure such as stress/rage/sexual arousal; and the artistic exploration of the altered perception that accompanies this.
